An event of the 26th Bonn Schumann Festival.
With works by Emanuel Moór, Olli Mustonen, Eduard Pütz, Alexandre Tansman, Ursula Malock, Carlos Gardel and the Comedian Harmonists.
In this program by the new Berlin cello quartet, everything revolves around the affair of the heart of the four musicians: the cello. Founded out of dedication to the instrument and because of the exciting repertoire possibilities of unknown original works and fantastic arrangements, the personal is always at the center of this extraordinary line-up around the award-winning cellists Anouchka Hack, Philip Graham, Senja Rummukainen and Jonas Palm. But the performance itself is also a matter of the heart for them: as a native of Bonn, Philip Graham in particular is looking forward to returning to the Schumannfest and the quartet's debut in his home country.
The four Berlin cellists are united by their dedication to their instrument and chamber music. At home as soloists and chamber musicians on international stages and festivals, the four musicians unite their individuality to form a new Berlin cello quartet. The focus is on combining rarely performed original works from the repertoire with varied arrangements to create thematically curated programs that range musically from the Baroque to contemporary music of the 21st century and thus testify to the versatility of this line-up. This versatility is also reflected in the name: Khrōma, Greek for color and the root of chromaticism, is intended to symbolize the musical richness of color that Cellokhrōma wishes to express.
