„China-Schock 2.0“: Wie kann Europa reagieren?

Many industrial sectors are already based in China, and others are also looking eastward, but what do standards and research have to do with this? A taz Talk on China and industrialization.
The panel discussion, organized by the China Competence Training Center (CCTC) and Le Monde diplomatique, brings together experts from academia and journalism to analyze the causes and consequences of the “China Shock 2.0”—and to discuss what a European response might look like.
In conversation:
🐾 Anna L. Ahlers heads the Lise Meitner Research Group “China in the Global Science System” at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG), which she founded in 2020.
🐾 Daniel Fuchs is a research associate at the Institute for Asian and African Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin. He is a member of the Berlin Contemporary China Network and conducts research on labor relations, industrial and technology policy, and China’s role in international standardization.
🐾 Felix Lee is an editor at the SZ Dossier Geoeconomics, a daily news briefing under the umbrella of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He spent nearly 20 years at the taz, nine of them as a China correspondent.

🐾 Merle Groneweg is a research associate at the China Competence Training Center (CCTC) at Humboldt University in Berlin. She also coordinates the Berlin Contemporary China Network, a network of Berlin-based China scholars.
