Maarten Engeltjes has made a name for himself worldwide with his expressive voice as a countertenor. With the Vlaams Radiokoor and his own baroque orchestra PRJCT Amsterdam, which he also conducts, he presents Easter music by Johann Sebastian Bach.
At the age of four, Maarten Engeltjes began singing in a boys' choir. When he was 13, his voice broke and he decided to train as a countertenor; as such, he made his debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion at the age of 16. In Cologne, Engeltjes offers Bach's Easter Oratorio and the early Bach cantata "Christ lag in Todes Banden," with his own baroque orchestra PRJCT Amsterdam and the fantastic voices of Sophie Junker, Fabio Trümpy and the Vlaams Radiokoor.
