In the organizer's words:
Christian Ehring, known as the host of “extra 3” and a cast member of “Heute Show,” is once again touring the country with a brand-new solo show. And that’s a good thing. Because his wit, his spontaneity, and his empathy are needed everywhere. Especially here, especially now.
The country is divided. Day by day, the rifts are getting deeper, the lines are hardening, and manners are growing rougher. Conflicts escalate within seconds. Where there used to be civilized debates, today there’s nothing but ranting and insults, making you want to shout nonstop: “Have any of you ever heard of politeness, you assholes?!”
Admittedly: Even Ehring hasn’t always held back gracefully in this war of opinions. He, too, has dissed and bashed, shamed, blamed, silenced, and confronted—sometimes without even knowing what these terms actually mean.
But now he says: Enough with the division! The satire pro with the Johannes Rau-style jawline has changed his tune and now wants to bring people together: himself with us, us with the world, the left with the right, Elmex with Aronal. And where better to accomplish this than in the very concrete here and now of a theater evening?
The audience can expect a highly topical, political, personal, and discursive show that doesn’t focus on what divides us, but rather on what still connects us all. For Ehring, at any rate, one thing is certain: reconciliation begins with listening. That’s what we should do—and listen to him, specifically.
“Golden times for cabaret. Especially for people with consistently high quality and clarity like Ehring, who are even better live than during their regular TV appearances.” (Mannheimer Morgen)
