Tabea Zimmermann is the undisputed queen of the viola. And Mahan Esfahani is a rousing mediator between the musical centuries on the harpsichord. In their duo program, they now devote themselves to baroque music and its inspiring consequences for modern music. They have selected two sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach that were originally composed for the viola da gamba. Bach's eldest son Wilhelm Friedemann wrote another demanding masterpiece. In between, Zimmermann and Esfahani will delight as soloists - with Buxtehude's brilliant "La Capricciosa" variations for harpsichord and a solo sonata by violist and Bach fan Hindemith.

Unfortunately, the concert with Christoph Sietzen, Tabea Zimmermann and Mahan Esfahani originally planned for this date cannot take place as Christoph Sietzen has fallen ill. We are delighted that Tabea Zimmermann and Mahan Esfahani have decided to perform the concert - with a modified program - as a duo.
