17-year-old Miguel wants to take part in the casting show Gente Joven as a singer. He is supposed to start studying law, but instead he immerses himself in the queer artist and activist scene in his city, which meets around a travesty club - and a progressive Catholic parish. For Miguel's mother Reme, his development is quite a shock: after all, homosexuality is still considered an illness and a crime at the time. But when Miguel is arrested during a police raid on the club and sent to prison, the tough widow cannot abandon her son!
