Wherever Spanish-Austrian violinist María Dueñas, born in Granada in 2002, performs, she inspires. Deutsche Grammophon awarded her an exclusive contract after she won 1st prize at the 2021 Yehudi Menuhin Competition. Her first album is dedicated to Beethoven's only violin concerto - the very work with which she is now also making her debut at the Kölner Philharmonie. At her side: the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra with its newly appointed principal conductor Kazuki Yamada, who is taking on a great legacy as the successor to Sir Simon Rattle, Andris Nelsons and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla!
