Collage-Workshop: Schicht um Schicht

Here, we’ll be stamping, painting, photocopying, scanning, folding, layering, writing, thinking, rhyming, and letting our imaginations run wild. We start with blank sheets of paper, which we gradually fill with shapes, colors, and stories. Fabrics, words from magazines, packaging materials—everything comes together here in a colorful mix. No matter how many layers or stories there are, you’re free to let your creativity run wild.

You’ll learn various collage techniques and experience “learning by doing”—how the composition and arrangement of images and colors convey messages and invite interpretation. 

The workshop concludes with an informal presentation of the results, to which friends, family, and anyone interested are warmly invited. 

Theater educator Martha Kleinhempel and scenographer Johanna Buderath will lead the workshop, ensuring varied workshop days that leave plenty of room for free creative work. 

Martha Kleinhempel has been working as a freelance theater educator since 2017. Currently, Martha leads theater projects in daycare centers, offers theater improvisation groups for children, and directs the children’s theater club “Sckellynauten” at the KJT Dortmund. 

Johanna Buderath has been leading seminars and workshops for children and young adults since 2023. In collaboration with the Fritz-Henßler-Haus, she has repeatedly led the art program as part of the Easter Academy, organized by 4.D.
