With a program especially for the Advent and Christmas season, Cordes y Butons invite the audience on a musical Christmas journey to distant lands and Alpine parlours. Brilliant arrangements of well-known and lesser-known Christmas carols are performed as well as devotional melodies. Cordes y Butons would not be Cordes y Butons, however, if fast-paced pieces from their repertoire had not also found their way into the concert program.
The unusual interplay of traditional instruments from the Alpine region is the trademark of the young trio Cordes y Butons from South Tyrol. It is an exciting constellation that offers plenty of musical scope between traditional music from the Alps and the modern sounds of world music and is wonderfully realized by these young musicians.
The three instruments are joined by three unique personalities with equally unique singing voices - the two sisters Reinhilde and Tamara from the Eisack Valley on the string instruments, David from the Val Gardena on the Styrian harmonica.
