Cyanotypie Workshop – Blaupausen des Sommers
PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:
In this summer workshop, we’ll explore cyanotype—one of the oldest photographic processes in existence. Using sunlight, water, and simple materials, we’ll create deep-blue images that oscillate between chance and design.
We’ll work outdoors, collect shapes, experiment with transparencies, and explore how light leaves its mark. Plants, objects, or our own compositions will serve as starting points for unique visual worlds.
The process is both unhurried and surprising: exposing, washing out, observing. What remains is an intense blue and the experience of having created something of your own using simple means.
The workshop is open to anyone who wants to experiment; no prior experience is required.
Here’s what to expect:
• An introduction to the cyanotype technique (brief and easy to understand)
• An insight into one of the oldest photographic processes
• Working with sunlight as a “light source”
• Collecting and selecting plants, objects, and materials on site
• Experimenting with composition, shadows, and transparencies
• Independently creating several prints on paper or fabric
• Washing and developing the works together
• Time for discussion, observation, and creative work without pressure
• Taking home your own finished cyanotypes
