Cynic

Due to considerable teething troubles, Cynic's debut album "Focus" was not released until six years after the band's formation in 1993 and was soon history again. As a fusion of technical death metal and fusion jazz with a spiritual superstructure, the album paved the way for a number of prog bands until Paul Masvidal reactivated the band in 2007 and presented a very ethereal variation of the old style for discussion, which contained less and less extreme stylistic elements until the end. The death of his comrades-in-arms Sean Reinert (dr.) and Sean Malone (b.) in 2020 did not stop the guitarist and singer from continuing to consistently realize his vision of truly extraterrestrial music.
