Daria Assmus & Band - Sound of Change - Wenn Songs die Welt verändern
In the organizer's words:
What happens when music no longer just entertains, but takes a stand?
Why do protest songs still move us even decades after they were written?
And what do they have to do with the issues that concern us today?
Especially in times of upheaval, music offers hope. It not only comforts, but also gives people a voice and sometimes becomes a driving force for social change in its own right. “Sounds of Change” tells the story of songs that shaped their era and whose messages still resonate today.
Pink Floyd protests against control and conformity in “Another Brick in the Wall,” while Ton Steine Scherben provides the soundtrack for a generation with “Keine Macht für Niemand.” Billie Holiday’s “Strange Fruit” makes racism impossible to ignore; Bob Dylan sings against war and injustice; John Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance” becomes the anthem of the peace movement; and “Bella Ciao” evolves from a partisan song into a global symbol of freedom and resistance.
Together with guitarist and singer Marco Silvestri and her band, Daria Assmus performs selected protest songs with power, emotion, and a clear understanding of their relevance today. “Sounds of Change – When Songs Change the World” is an evening for everyone who wants to not just listen to music, but experience it. A concert that entertains, moves, and shows that some songs still have something to say even decades later.
The versatile singer has already performed on renowned stages such as the Elbphilharmonie and has wowed audiences in Bonn with the Beethoven Orchestra, among others, as well as in projects with Marcus Schinkel. Together with Marco Silvestri, she has also served as the opening act for Sir Tom Jones and Lukas Graham.
