An interactive karaoke talk with Düsseldorf women - Volume XII: Miriam Koch (Councillor for Culture and Integration of the state capital Düsseldorf).
Moderation: Käthe Lorenz supported by Pia Schwierz, Franka Werden (vocals) and Tim Steiner (piano).
No fear of off-key sounds! In this joint series of events, kom!ma e.V. and the Theatermuseum present Düsseldorf women six times a year who are committed to women's issues in the city in a wide variety of ways. In a wild mixture of talk and a joint karaoke evening, the guests are given the opportunity to introduce themselves and their lives and work. Together with the audience, songs are sung in between that have accompanied the talk guests throughout their lives.
In December, Düsseldorf's Head of Department for Culture and Integration, Miriam Koch, will be a guest. Born in Hamelin, she studied librarianship at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts. In 2004, she moved into politics, initially as the office manager of the leader of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament and later also as a research assistant there. From 2010 to 2015, Miriam Koch was Group Managing Director of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group in the state capital of Düsseldorf. Before taking over as Head of the Office for Migration and Integration in 2018, she was the state capital's first Commissioner for Refugees from 2015. Since May 2022, she has been the Alderwoman for Culture and Integration.
