In the organizer's words:

Another movie night at the ROMANFABRIK!

This documentary explores humanity’s nomadic potential. A thirst for discovery and curiosity, as well as flight and spiritual quests, have shaped this nomadic essence. The film follows the artists of Mangan25 on expeditions across six continents. In extreme landscapes—such as the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Venezuela, the eternal ice of the Arctic and the Himalayas, and various deserts around the world—they encounter extraordinary tribes and stories. One chapter of the film is dedicated to the dramatic expedition to Nanga Parbat, during which Günther Jung, a native of Thuringia, lost his life. It is brought to life with footage by the renowned mountain filmmaker Gerhard Baur.

Kai-Uwe Kohlschmidt, born in Leipzigin 1968, is an author, composer, and director of radio plays, features, theater, and film. He is the singer of the band SANDOW and a member of the artist collective Mangan25. Kohlschmidt lives and works in the Spreewald.
