Since the release of his debut album "Resolutions" in 2011, Dave Hause has put his whole heart, soul and life into his music. Of course, the same is true for his sixth solo album, "Drive It Like It's Stolen." The ten songs embody everything that makes up the music of the singer of The Loved Ones. They reflect the urgency, passion, truth and harsh realities of life in today's world as well as the occasional bursts of joy that punctuate it. The Philadelphia-born songwriter's tracks to date have always described his personal traumas and triumphs against the backdrop of an unforgiving capitalist environment, linking personal experiences to societal forces. "Drive It Like It's Stolen" is as earnest and heartfelt, raw and real as anything he's written before. But there's also a significant difference: Hause tells fictional stories here to create what he calls "post-apocalyptic Americana" - the post-pandemic, divided, troubled U.S. that feels to him like the prequel to the dystopian Terry Gilliam film "12 Monkeys." This disturbing, apocalyptic quasi-reality of the album's lyrics is echoed and amplified by the music. Even though some of the songs process impressions Hause has taken on tour, it's more that the father and family man doesn't want to tell true stories this time: "My life is becoming less and less interesting. I want to be consistent, coaching baseball or taking my kids to gymnastics. I don't want to stare into the abyss all the time, trying to determine my existential weight. I don't want my life to be fodder for songs - I want it to be my creativity." That's accomplished, and the record is once again as true as life. In January Dave Hause is coming on a big German tour with six acoustic concerts in churches of culture and intimate atmosphere.Presented by Classic Rock and SLAM. - featuring Tim Hause & Mark Masefield HAUNTED CHURCHES 2024 TOUR
