The English singer/songwriter Declan McKenna follows in big footsteps - with role models like David Bowie or St. Vincent he enters the stage with the glamour of a Harry Styles in indie garb. But Declan McKenna not only brings together energetic indie pop with a rock twist and anthemic lyrics, he also devotes himself to current social issues. And it was precisely with this essence that his music career began: at the tender age of 15, he took FIFA under the microscope and put it at the center of his criticism. It was about the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the questionable circumstances prevailing there. "Brazil" became his first hit at that time, with which he not only landed directly in the Billboard charts, but also won the hearts of all indie fans. It also caused a stir in the music industry, with a whole 40 labels competing for his signature at the time. A real hype arose, which even gained momentum in recent years. But Declan remained true to himself and continued to combine melodic, danceable indie pop with sophisticated lyrics. He just announced his third studio album "What Happened To The Beach?", which will be released in February 2024.
