Denkmalforscher - Unser Sommerferienprogramm

In the organizer's words:

Heritage photography serves many purposes. The special exhibition “Heritage, Please Smile!” (June 8 – September 13, 2026) features heritage photographs from the Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments. We’re taking this as an opportunity to view the Museum of Printing Arts through the lens of historic preservation. What can we learn about a building where printing has been taking place for over 100 years? What traces of industrial culture can we find in the architecture and the collection spanning 600 years of printing history? And how can we document this wealth of historical evidence?

In small groups, we set out on a search, select objects, and document them with rubbings, drawings, and brief descriptions. A key sentence about each object will be set in lead type and printed. The resulting object cards will catalog the museum as an industrial monument and highlight the wealth of traces from the history of printing.
