Picturesque settings, strong actors*, romance and love, a heroine who will defend her independence, courtroom drama, portrait of the times and moving cinema entertainment. You could overdose on these ingredients or, as in this case, make a great film adaptation of the bestseller of the same name. Despite all the cinematic power, the film remains the story of a resistant woman thanks to author Delia Owens, producer Resse Witherspoon, director Olivia Newman and, of course, the all-conquering leading actress Daisy Edgar-Jones.
