It’s been about 20 years since Andrea “Andy” Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) suffered under the devilish ways of fashion magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) as her assistants. In the meantime, however, the two women have forged their own career paths—Emily, in fact, has become extremely successful as the manager of a luxury brand, whose advertising campaigns cost an astronomical amount of money. But Miranda Priestley can only dream of such a budget these days. The days of money rolling in are over for her, because in the Internet age, sales of her classic print magazine “Runway” are getting worse and worse. But as fate would have it, the paths of Miranda, Andy, and Emily cross again after all this time—and art director Nigel (Stanley Tucci) is also sure to be there when the New York fashion scene kicks into high gear once more.
