Devin Townsend returns to European stages in 2026 with his Metamorphosis Solo Tour, stopping off for three exclusive concerts in Germany, including at the WERK7 theater in Munich on 26.09.2026. After a creative break and the completion of his most ambitious album to date, this special concert series offers rare, direct access to one of the most versatile artists in modern progressive music. The solo shows create space for an intimate and versatile performance that reflects the full spectrum of his work.

Since the early nineties, Devin Townsend has been shaping the international music landscape with an extraordinary stylistic range. From the extreme sound of his band Strapping Young Lad to atmospheric and cinematic works under his own name or projects such as Devin Townsend Project and Casualties of Cool, he has established himself as a visionary composer and producer. Legendary performances, including concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, and a discography of over thirty studio albums underline his status as a defining figure in progressive metal and beyond.

The focus of the current phase is the new studio album The Moth, which will be released on May 29, 2026 via Inside Out Music. The work is regarded as the culminating expression of his musical and personal development to date. Townsend describes the album as the sum of his experiences and at the same time as the starting point for a new creative phase. Its creation led him on an intensive journey of self-reflection, which is now also reflected in the concerts. The Metamorphosis Tour picks up on this change and combines pieces from his extensive catalog with personal insights into the stories behind the music.

"Fans who had hoped for a full live realization of The Moth - with band, orchestra and choir - will have to wait for this experience for the time being. Townsend himself says: "If that's what the audience at large wants, I'd love to do it, but let's go again before we fly =)." He adds: "I'm just looking forward to seeing you all again, singing and playing the music from this extensive catalog and discussing the stories behind it. With a varying setlist and deliberately open dramaturgy, the result is a concert experience that defies any fixed expectations and instead focuses on the complexity of his artistic cosmos. A concert highlight not to be missed.
