“Dialektik der Ordnung. Die Moderne und der Holocaust“ Ein Lektürekreis zum gleichnamigen Buch von Zygmunt Bauman

In the reading circle, Bauman's 'Dialectics of Order. Modernity and the Holocaust', a sociological classic, will be read and discussed together. Bauman (2002, p. 8) writes: "The Holocaust was not a picture on the wall, but a window through which things became visible that normally remain undiscovered. And what came to light concerns not only the perpetrators, the victims and the witnesses of the crime, but is of the utmost importance for all who live today and want to live in the future." The aim of the reading group is to understand Bauman's theses, relate them to our present-day society and discuss them in greater depth. We will read excerpts from Bauman's book together.
