This visually stunning documentary shows us how we humans are systematically destroying our planet. Three directors have traveled to around twenty countries in more than three years - and, as expected, they give mankind a bad report card for the destruction of the Blue Planet. The film ranges from the kilometer-long concrete walls that have to protect more than half of China's coastline, to the world's largest excavators in open-cast mining in North Rhine-Westphalia, to evaporation basins in the Atacama Desert, where lithium is extracted. Some of the fantastic images are so surreal that you can't help but be amazed.
Interview partner: Prof. Dr. Helmuth Trischler, Deutsches Museum, former Head of Research
The Green Visionsseries at the Munich Adult Education Center presents documentary films from all over the world on environmental and sustainability issues. The motto this time is: "One Book - Many Worlds". The idea behind it: As many people as possible exchange views on the themes of a book in as many places as possible. The theme is the climate novel "Gun Island" by Amitav Gosh, which tells of displacement and change. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for discussion with experts. Jan Sebeling from DOK.Fest will answer questions on film studies. You can find more information at: www.mvhs.de/green-visions
