Scenic performance
With the production of Igor Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale", the Kulturraffinerie K714 presents an outstanding event in recent theater history, which can now be experienced exclusively in Germany after its acclaimed debut at the Salzburg Festival. The fact that this renowned co-production of the Salzburg Marionette Theater and the Festival is making its way to Monheim am Rhein underlines the claim of the new Kulturhaus as a venue for top-class art. The work, created in 1918 as a key work of musical modernism, is presented here in a scenic version that combines the spirit of traveling theater with the most modern precision. The production was unanimously acclaimed by the press as an event that brings the archaic power of the Russian fairy tale to life in a new way through a fascinating combination of drama, dance and music.
