Die Glühwürmchen - Tanz auf dem Vulkan

The turbulent 1920s are currently, 100 years later, much and often remembered. The mixture of political tension and self-indulgent pleasure-seeking seems to be palpable again today, especially as both Cologne and Berlin were the epicenter of the decadent "dance on the volcano" a century ago.

Let us take you back to a time when there were no climate stickers stuck anywhere.
Equipped with whispering bag and gramophone sounds, the Glühwürmchen recreate the yellowed photographs of the 20s and 30s and give them a new shine.

The Glühwürmchen open their new program with "It had better be tonight", alluding to the turbulent, pleasure-seeking, wild times of the golden 20s. A "wild world - without pretense or shame"
They take the Chattanooga choo choo (Sonderzoch to Kölle), dream of the Puszta and a Mr. Marquis, changing genre again and again:
From chanson, beguine to musical and swing, to Wagner's lovely Evening Star, they prove time and again that they also master their instruments with bravura. And, of course, this program also features cheerful Einjekölscht.

Hanns Buschmann delights with an excursion into the history of cabaret in Berlin and forms a pointed counterpart to the ladies' chansons. He tells historical and amusing anecdotes from a crazy and unpredictable time. Tucholsky, Dutchman Kästner and Otto Reutter are quoted and "with his hand over Alexanderplatz", the cabaret artist meets a "conscientious bricklayer" and asks himself: "How did that happen?" - to sum up the humorous evening with an ironic "It's going forward".

The four vocal artists and Hanns Buschmann are accompanied by the outstanding pianist Uwe Rössler, who repeatedly causes storms of enthusiasm with his solo interludes.

How long will the dance on the volcano continue? This question remains unanswered, at least as far as the present day is concerned. Let's hope for the best!
