In the organizer's words:

A comedy of mistaken identity with a gender swap

By William Shakespeare

We are in Ephesus, where the merchant’s wife Antiphola, accompanied by her maid Dromia, has just arrived from Syracuse. Both are searching for their missing twin sisters, who are also named Antiphola and Dromia, and whom they hope to find in Ephesus. As soon as Antiphola and Dromia from Syracuse meet the husband and family of the Antiphola and Dromia from Ephesus, a series of mix-ups, mistaken seductions, brawls, and arrests ensues, nearly culminating in a collective identity crisis.

“The Comedy of Errors” is one of Shakespeare’s earliest (and shortest) plays and is based on the Roman comedy “Menaechmi” (The Two Twins) by Plautus. It was likely written between 1592 and 1594 and will be performed from September 14–19 in a version in which the characters’ genders have been swapped.
