Venue: Reading room
A flying exhibition with scenic performance, music and discussion.
The focus is on the role of women in the difficult post-war period and in the reconstruction of a democratic society in Munich. With great strength, they tried to get their families and themselves through and also to represent and realize their interests and ideas. They achieved a great deal. But even the most committed and strongest female politicians and actors failed time and again due to the inertia of a predominantly male-dominated society.
Will women's hopes and expectations for a new democratic society, equality and self-determination finally be fulfilled in 2045, one hundred years after the zero hour?
In May 1945, with the end of the Second World War, a new course was set in politics and society that still influences the way we live together today. The program "1945-2025 Zero Hour? How we became what we are." of the Munich Cultural Department would like to commemorate this with an extensive program of events.
