In our anniversary month, we are once again commemorating one of the most powerful cinema experiences from the early years of the Schaubühne with a "Long Night": THREE COLORS: BLUE - WHITE - RED. Three films in one evening and of course in OmU!
The trilogy represents an outstanding cinematic achievement and is considered the most artistically ambitious work by the "auteur du cinéma", who was born in Poland and later emigrated to France. Krzysztof Kieślowski understood his craft and set standards in terms of dramaturgy, music - but also in editing and acting direction - that still apply today. THREE COLORS - BLUE | 6:00 pm
First part of the "Colors" trilogy. Julie is the only survivor of a serious traffic accident in which her daughter and husband die. Afterwards, she does everything she can to repress the memory and make a new start somewhere else. She moves to Paris, where she lives almost without contact. She wants to sell her family estate and destroys her husband's notations - he was a composer. But despite everything, Julie is unable to rid herself of her past. To alleviate the pain, she finally has to choose a different path: She contacts an old friend and begins to continue her husband's work.

THREE COLORS - WHITE | 20:00
Second part of the "Colors" trilogy. Frenchwoman Dominique is divorcing her Polish husband Karol. She claims that the marriage was never consummated because they never slept together after the wedding. Karol loses everything as a result of the divorce: his wife and great love, his money, his papers and his hairdressing salon. He decides to secretly return to Poland, get rich there and then take revenge on his ex-wife.

THREE COLORS - RED | 22:00
Concluding part of the "Colors" trilogy, which focuses on contemporary French society. The young model Valentine runs over a dog and takes care of the animal. She tracks down the owner, a retired judge who, cut off from the outside world, secretly listens in on other people's phone calls. Although she is repulsed by the elderly gentleman's behavior, she becomes increasingly attracted to him.
