The young singer and guitarist Cláudia Sofia from Mindelo, the cultural capital of Cape Verde, is touring Germany for the first time. Her music is deeply rooted in Cape Verdean tradition and combines it masterfully with Brazilian, European-American influences. She embodies the new generation of Cape Verdean music.

Cláudia Sofia is accompanied by the outstanding multi-instrumentalist Lucio Vieira, known for his work with Lura and Sarah Tavares, and the drummer Markus Leukel, who has lived in Mindelo since 2010 and has made a name for himself touring with Cape Verdean musicians.

Their songs tell of life and love in Cape Verde and, with their unique melodies and rousing rhythms, transport you to a world full of musical diversity and cultural depth.
