Revue by the Cologne salon quartet Die Schmonzetten

With their unmistakable mix of rousing three-part singing, musical virtuosity and charming anecdotes, the Schmonzetten take their audience on a musical jaunt into the 1920s and bring history to life.

In their revue "Girls, Gören und Garçonne", they tell of fashion-conscious flappers, intellectual bohemians and quirky avant-gardists who conquered public life and the stage through beauty, education and chutzpah. During the day, they manage the modern world of work at telephone switchboards and behind heavy typewriters or file essays on the latest fashion trends for one of the new magazines. In the evenings, they turn into glamorous girls who celebrate life in dance clubs to jazz and Charleston - always in search of freedom, modernity and a touch of decadence.

This short-lived but formative era sparkled with creative joie de vivre, artistic innovations and bold ideas that continue to inspire today.

The Schmonzettes tackle these not always glamorous themes with passion and humor. Because if you want to change something, you sometimes have to swim against the tide!

The quartet consists of Aglaja Camphausen (vocals and cello), Nadine-Goussi Aguigah (violin and vocals), Edith Langgartner (double bass and vocals) and Ulrich van der Schoor (piano)
