Erich Kästner, a contemporary of Brecht, was not only a very successful storyteller and novelist, but also probably the best-known German children's book author of the last century. The trio "Die Zwanglosen" takes a look at the musically "useful" lyricist, satirist, moralist and critic of the times. His texts are classic and yet topical and highly political.
