Dingsbums

For children, everyday objects are often just as exciting to discover as their colorful toys. What would it look like if the world of objects came to life? The dance piece*Dingsbums*by Barbara Fuchs focuses on kitchen utensils. In this performance for very young audiences, familiar objects suddenly take on a life of their own, becoming fellow dancers and mirror images. Three performers explore, touch, and experience this world of objects—and connect with them: The objects become extensions of their bodies, disappearing beneath their clothing. Objects, people, and movements miraculously merge, giving rise to entirely new hybrid beings.
