The compositions and arrangements of the nationally and internationally active bandleader have become more complex over the years, but retain their clarity and testify to a very fine sense of rhythm and melody. Versatility and colorfulness run like a red thread through the compositions of Heidelberg drummer Dirik Schilgen and unite the many facets of jazz, soul, Brazilian and Latin music in a wonderfully light way. On stage, the music comes alive through the sparkling joy of musical communication between all the players.
