Discobude presents - PANDA IN THE SHELL (Electric Journey with Ruede Hagelstein)

What began ten years ago as an incognito rave in the Belgian Quarter has long since outgrown its own four basement walls. Five DJs, a private room, booming nights - and more and more guests who wanted to be part of it. The cellar became too small, the vision bigger. The disco now goes public

After its vibrant premiere on Boxing Day 2025, the disco booth posse is now returning to the Blue Shell and will open the event year on January 31, 2026 with a special evening between words and sound. Guests can expect an intense experience at the interface of literature and electronic music - humorous, playful and uncompromisingly danceable.

The focus of the early evening is the reading from the novel "DJs Are Dead" by Ruede Hagelstein (21:00-22:30). The Berlin DJ and producer - known from Watergate Berlin - takes us on a journey through highs, crashes and new beginnings. "DJs Are Dead" begins promisingly at the end of the 90s, in the relevant places of nightlife, and ends unerringly in the midlife crisis. Honest, self-deprecating and from the heart of the club scene.

After the reading, we switch seamlessly into night mode. Contrary to the title of the book, Ruede Hagelstein is very much alive and personally takes over the decks for an organic, melodic set with his unmistakable musical signature. The disco booth team -SCHWENK.M., Hellar Denier & Remis Mateng-complete the evening with a melange of creaking melodies, free-spinning frequencies and hypnotic grooves.

There will be dancing. All night long.
