In July, none other than YURIY GURZHY will be taking over the turntables—musician, producer, DJ, author, columnist, theater maker, compilation curator, and probably a whole lot more. In short: a cultural Swiss Army knife from Ukraine.
Get ready for a wild journey through Ukrainian sounds, Klezmer history, Eastern European folklore, reggae offbeats, and electronic surprises like Chornobayivka Beat & Bavovna Electro. Dancing is strongly encouraged.
DJ and host KARACHO RABAUKIN also delves deep into her musical bag of tricks: Balkan wedding fanfares meet Eastern ska, klezmer, polka-punk, Romani beats, and Balkan pop. Melancholy meets ecstasy, circle dancing meets dancehall, vodka meets beads of sweat.
