In the organizer's words:
Content:
Anna and Charlotte live in constant competition with each other. At least that's how their mother Ines wants it, who sometimes favors one and lets the other feel it. Nevertheless, the unequal sisters - one queer and non-conformist, the other a supposedly tough successful woman - return to their childhood home in northern Germany. Old wounds open up and well-kept secrets come to light: Whose ashes is their mother hiding? What links her to a Czech donkey farm? In their search for answers, the dissimilar sisters find new trust in each other.
Background:
A black comedy of little nasties that can only be found in the family. In her second feature film, director Susanne Pel uses sophisticated humor to explore the often problematic relationships between mothers, sisters and daughters - and the social role models behind them. "Donkey Days" is a modern, beguilingly absurd family film full of empathy for its characters - superbly played by the leading actresses Jil Krammer, Susanne Wolff and Hildegard Schmahl.
Info:
In cooperation with the municipal cinema of the vhs bochum and Autonomes queer*feministisches Referat. Admission costs 6.00 euros for everyone.
