Durchlüften 2026. Open-Air-Festival im Humboldt Forum

On four weekends in summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival transforms the Schlüterhof of the Humboldt Forum into an open-air meeting place, without admission, where musical traditions from all over the world unfold and become living archives of culture in the encounter with the audience.

5 years open - 5 years of AERATION. The Schlüterhof at Berlin's Humboldt Forum will once again become a vibrant open-air stage for global music, cultural exchange and shared experiences. From July 9 to August 1, 2026, the festival will present 24 live acts and 12 DJs from all over the world on four summer weekends. Two concerts are on the program every evening, followed by a DJ set. This will result in twelve nights full of musical discoveries, movement and encounters in the heart of Berlin - again with Free admission for all.

From energetic Mauritanian desert blues and indigenous Andean futurism to Kurdish acid ritual and Afro-Colombian bass cosmologies to Tanzanian polyphony and Anatolian-Nordic electronica - the courtyard will become a meeting place for living cultures. Musicians carry traditions as living cultural archives and combine traditional instruments, languages and narrative art with contemporary forms, the exchange of diaspora communities and global club culture. Collaborations with independent labels such as Argentina's ZZK Records and honiunhoni from Karachi further expand these transcontinental musical dialogs.

Since its foundation, DURCHLÜFTEN has stood for cultural dialog beyond the museum walls. What begins in the exhibition spaces - in the collections and exhibitions - flows outwards into lived experience. The inner courtyard becomes a place for everyone, a space of participation, hospitality and collective presence.

DURCHLÜFTEN welcomes everyone: Music and art lovers, record collectors, museum visitors lingering after sunset, ravers, passing neighbors and grandmothers visiting with their families. Here, everyone comes together not just to listen, but to experience cultures in motion and dance along.
