Award-winning photographer Misha Vallejo embarks on a deeply personal journey, using his late grandfather’s camera to recreate a lost family album. This quest builds a bridge to a man he never knew, while also exploring the absence of family photographs and the stories they might have told. In intimate moments with his grandmother, Misha explores themes such as the absence of his father, racism, and social discrimination; uncovers hidden family secrets; and reclaims places that were once denied to his loved ones. His images capture both the pain of violence and the fleeting nature of memory, while also offering hope for connection and healing. *Light Memories* is a reflection on the power of photography, the resilience of families, and the possibility of reclaiming what has been lost.
