This year, the great actress Helene Weigel, who founded both the Berliner Ensemble and the Bertolt Brecht Archive, would have been 125 years old. To mark the occasion, the Brecht House invites you to celebrate: director Maria Wischnewski gives a preview of her new biopic Helene Weigel: It won't stay the same, granddaughter Johanna Schall, biographer Sabine Kebir and other contemporary witnesses and experts talk about Weigel's life and art, and letters, songs and famous scenes from her repertoire are presented on the Hofbühne.
There will be guided tours of Helene Weigel's apartment and the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof cemetery, and the Helene Weigel Archive will be presented by its founder, Matthias Braun.
An event organized by the Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus, the Brecht-Weigel-Museum and the Bertolt-Brecht-Archiv in cooperation with the Evangelischer Friedhofsverband Berlin Stadtmitte.
