Not only since her solo debut "Liebe & Krieg", which was released in 2020 and has collected more than 60 million artist streams to date, ela. - whose real name is Elżbieta Steinmetz - is currently one of the most successful and renowned singer/songwriters in Germany. Back in 2014, she entered the ESC as the lead singer of her pop-folk band Elaiza to represent Germany, and has since gone solo. The artist with Ukrainian roots, who is at home in German pop, has also made a name for herself through cross-genre collaborations with top-class fellow musicians. From Helene Fischer to Michael Patrick Kelly to Adel Tawil or the power anti-war anthem Kupala, which caused a furor throughout Europe and became a Ukrainian top ten hit, there seems to be no sound that ela. could not enrich with her powerful multi-faceted vocals and soulful piano playing. Her single release "Someday" has sold more than 100,000 copies to date. Through the profound and reflective examination of socio-critical topics, she has become an important mouthpiece for her generation, especially in recent years. It is important to the Berlin-based songwriter to tell her stories with touching language, subtle lyricism and great poetry, but at the same time to leave enough space for people to find themselves in them. With her latest singles "Zwischen den Welten" and "Immer jemand wach" Ela. recently heralded a new musical chapter. The accompanying album will follow in the summer of this year. After working intensively on her second, early 2023 album and numerous collaborations over the last few months, the Berliner-by-choice will be going on an extensive Immer jemand wach tour in October. She herself says about it: "No other medium in the world can replace the live experience.
