Electri_City Conference

The Electri_City Conference will take place on October 23 and 24 at the Conference Box of the me and all Hotel Düsseldorf (Immermannstraße 23, 40210 Düsseldorf). The hotel is located in the Japanese Quarter and is just a few minutes’ walk from Düsseldorf Central Station. This year, the conference begins one day after the Punk Museum opens at Düsseldorf’s Hofgarten.

This year’s edition focuses on post-punk—the genre that emerged from punk in the late 1970s and expanded its musical and social boundaries. Amid urban alienation, the search for identity, political consciousness, and experimental soundscapes, a musical style emerged that continues to influence artists across a wide range of genres to this day. With a total of 15 guests, the Electri_City Conference explores the roots, developments, and legacy of post-punk, while building bridges to industrial, avant-garde, and electronic music.
