Elif Saydam. Glory
In the organizer's words:
The exhibition "Glory" presents an installation of Elif Saydam's signature miniature works as well as a new series of larger works in oil, collage and silver leaf. Based on an art historical misunderstanding of medieval landscapes - where gilded silver depicting fountains, springs and bodies of water have patinated and blackened over the centuries - these works explore the deepening divide between notions of pleasure and pain, benevolence and malevolence, trash and treasure.
