Tabea Zimmermann is something like the goddess of the viola. After more than 30 years of stage experience, she makes music full of freshness and vitality. With the agile members of Ensemble Resonanz, she builds bridges from Schubert into the 20th century.
"The concert is about giving time, not taking it away," says Tabea Zimmermann. "I've shifted the desire to stop time into sound. I think the concert is the ideal place for that." She has an intense collaboration with Hamburg's Ensemble Resonanz. Together, they present timeless music that leads from Schubert to Hindemith, to Romanian composer George Enescu and Polish tone poet Grażyna Bacewicz. It could be that time stands still in the process.
