Lina Lapelytė's performance "We Make Years Out of Hours" transforms the historic hall of Hamburger Bahnhof - Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart into a place of collective action and singing for the second CHANEL Commission. 400,000 wooden cubes spread out on the floor, pile up in stacks, combine to form architectural and then hill-like structures. The blocks move through the hands of performers and visitors and the wooden landscape is constantly changing. "We Make Years Out of Hours" is a living monument to time, care and coexistence. The participatory format emphasizes the understanding of the open museum for the 30th anniversary of Hamburger Bahnhof by actively involving the audience.
