error is a German-language indie pop act that explores the themes of Gen Z life through poetic lyrics. The honest and precise imagery in his lyrics also draws on personal experiences. Against the backdrop of societal tensions, this gives rise to accessible songs that take listeners on a journey through error’s emotional world.

The arrangements consist of warm guitar tones, which, underpinned by driving drums and analog synthesizer sounds, form a danceable foundation for error’s lyrics. With his latest EP, the artist has deliberately established a warmer and more organic soundscape, which he intends to continue with his upcoming releases.

Thanks to his father, who works as a piano teacher, error learned early on the importance of music in his own life. During his school years, he played in the school orchestra, was part of the youth ensemble at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, and took his first steps as a songwriter. After graduating from high school, error began studying pop music design at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2020. There, he honed his skills in vocals and songwriting before releasinghis debut single, “Starkes Drehbuch, schwacher Cast,” in 2023.

Since then, error has increasingly established himself in the German-speaking indie scene, gradually drawing his listeners into a soundscape that is at times dark, at times warm, but always unique. In 2024, error was named an “Artist to Watch” by DIFFUS and received high praise for his debut, “ASPARTAM-BITTER.”In 2025, he ushered in a new artistic phasewith “DASGLÜCKGEHÖRTVERSAGERN.”Driven by the interplay of contradiction, sound, and atmosphere, he creates songs that are deliberately edgy, unconventional, and surprising—tracks that don’t pander but take a stand while remaining emotionally accessible.

Armed with the experiences of his first intense years of releasing music, error is now setting his sights on a new orbit. Brighter hues and more organic arrangements blend into his characteristic pop melancholy. The five songs on the current EP carry a new warmth without losing their depth.
