Erste-Hilfe-Kurs am Hund
In the organizer's words:
Whether your dog twists its leg while dashing across a meadow, steps on a broken bottle during a walk through the park, or steals that tempting bar of chocolate from the kitchen table: In everyday life, a dog can find itself in a situation where it needs first aid at any time.
Our five-hour “First Aid for Dogs” course covers the basic knowledge you need to help your own dog—or someone else’s—in emergency situations. Course topics include:
- Examination techniques
- Treating injuries
- Knowledge of emergency conditions such as heatstroke and poisoning
- Tips and techniques for transporting injured dogs
- Ways to protect yourself
The course is open to anyone aged 14 and older; no prior knowledge is required. Dogs are not allowed in the seminar;we’ll practice some of the theoretical concepts using models and manikins, while other techniques—such as checking a pulse—are best practiced afterward with your own dog in a familiar environment.
For ASB members, one first-aid course per year is free of charge—please bring your annual voucher or membership number with you.
