Irren | ist | Menschlich - 45 years of social psychiatry: from the first Cologne day clinic to outpatient care

Klaus Jansen-Kayser, born in 1955, has lived in Cologne since 1980.

• 1975: Trained as a nurse in a psychiatric clinic
• 1980: Founding of the (first) day clinic for psychiatry in Cologne
• 1989: Moved to the first social psychiatric center in Cologne-Ehrenfeld
• 2012: Establishment of "Integrated Care for Cologne " - social psychiatry without inpatient treatment
• 2019: Retirement after 45 years of psychiatric work
• 2020: Foundation of the association "LaongoCologne e. V." (support for a village in Burkina Faso)

Since October 2020, Klaus Jansen-Kayser has hosted a podcast in which experiences from 45 years of German psychiatry are regularly shared.
