Eugen Drewermann: „Fjodor Dostojewskij – Dichter der Menschlichkeit“
In the organizer's words:
With his lecture in Dresden, Eugen Drewermann sends a strong message about the relevance of Fyodor Dostoevsky today. To mark the ceremonial unveiling of the Dostoevsky monument on August 29, 2026, at its new location next to the Russian Orthodox Church, the German-Russian Cultural Institute e.V. invites you to a cultural highlight.
The renowned theologian and psychoanalyst Eugen Drewermann is returning to Dresden. Back in 2002, he captivated a sold-out audience at the Staatsschauspielhaus. Now, Eugen Drewermann is once again taking the initiative to provide intellectual context for the ceremonial reinstallation.
On Friday, August 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., Eugen Drewermann will speak in the Mauersberger Hall (Haus an der Kreuzkirche) on the topic “Fyodor Dostoevsky—Poet of Humanity.” In times of social upheaval, he draws on Dostoevsky’s work to remind us of timeless values such as compassion, conscience, and human dignity. Come experience an inspiring evening!
