EVENT FSFF 2026: Eröffnungsfeier Fünf Seen Filmfestival

The blue carpet has been rolled out, and the 20th FÜNF SEEN FILMFESTIVAL is ready to begin in a festive atmosphere, with the support of the Bavarian State Chancellery, FFF Bayern, the District of Upper Bavaria, the Starnberg District Office, the City of Starnberg, the Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg, ALR Treuhand GmbH, and DCSL Global GmbH, as well as the main media partners Bayerischer Rundfunk and Süddeutsche Zeitung, and the many other sponsors and film patrons. We owe them our heartfelt thanks.

The festival will open with the film *LIEBLINGSMENSCHEN: THE EXTRAORDINARY FRIENDSHIP OF AGNES AND AMIR*. The film is inspired by a true friendship: Amir is 31, gay, and has just fled Iran. Agnes is 101, a true Berlin character, and still too young for a nursing home, in her opinion. The two move in together, become friends, and save each other’s lives. At the opening ceremony, actress Ulrike Kriener and producer Fabian Halbig will present the film. This year’s guest of honor, Christian Petzold, and other prominent filmmakers will also attend the opening ceremony.

BR host Hannah Heinzinger (Bayern 2 Kultur Aktuell) will host the evening.

The event will feature a champagne reception and finger food.
