Following his Oscar-winning film DRIVE MY CAR, director HAMAGUCHI Ryusuke now turns his attention to the relationship between man and nature in EVIL DOES NOT EXIST: Takumi and his daughter Hana lead a modest village life in harmony with nature near Tokyo. The village peace is disturbed when a company wants to build a glamping facility nearby. When the ecological consequences of the project become clear and the luxury campsite meets with disapproval from the local residents, the company sends two representatives to the village to calm things down. But instead, the conflict escalates.
