Ezekiels "Mo' Money" (Vernissage)

Vernissage for the exhibition by Ezekiel

On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Ezekiel will open his exhibition "Mo' Money" at the Alte Feuerwache.

On display for the first time is a selection from the 2026 cycle - a pictorial world that at first glance appears colorful, striking and direct - but on closer inspection becomes much more uncomfortable.

Ezekiel also works with prints on acrylic glass in this series. The smooth, glossy surface reinforces the visual coldness and medial directness of the motifs. Formally, the works move between digital collage and posterized image aesthetics.

"Mo' Money" does not view money as a neutral means of exchange, but as an omnipresent structure: as a symbol, means of pressure and form of power. Money lies behind political rituals, behind glamor and social media self-presentation, behind state violence, ecological destruction and religious authority.

The vernissage brings this series of images to a place where art, everyday life and the public sphere meet directly. The works provide no simple answers. They create stimuli, friction and contradictions.

Cologne-based artist, DJ and cultural organizer Ezekiel is active as co-initiator of the Art Bazaar and organizer of the independent Odonia Noire Festival for electronic music.
